Sarah Watts, Anthea Wood and Antony Clare present an evening of clarinet, bassoon and piano works. Their programme brings a flavour of Scotland with The Caledonia Trio for clarinet, bassoon and piano by James Rae, a suite of three Scottish folk songs, as well as some jazz and blues with a solo bass clarinet arrangement of the Billie Holiday classic God Bless The Child arranged by Eric Dolphy.
Sarah Watts is an award winning British bass clarinettist who has gained an international reputation for her work. Her performances on both clarinet and bass clarinet as a soloist and chamber musician have led to numerous CD releases and invitations to perform all over the world. Together with Antony Clare, Sarah formed SCAW, a duo promoting bass clarinet and piano works – they also team up to host the Isle of Raasay bass clarinet and bassoon course, started in 2009 by Sarah. Anthea Wood is a leading bassoonist who has worked with orchestras, ballet and opera companies.
We’re delighted to have these three fantastic performers join us for a special online concert.
