From new music inspired by the spectacle of Chinese Opera to that written as a reflection on Taoist spirituality, Tangram offers an insightful and emotional journey into a transnational Chinese experience and culture.

Music from three special guests, visual artist and classical musician Professor Dale Perkins, Rick Nance; an acousmatic composer and Louise Rossiter, with her incredible project creating a sonic journey through Fritz Kahn’s pioneering infographics of the human body.
Saturday 21 November, 7.30pm
Naomi Sullivan and Yshani Perinpanayagam will perform new pieces from five emerging women composers; Angela Elizabeth Slater, Blair Boyd, Ray Gibson, Nina Danon and Lara Poe.

We’re delighted to be able to showcase more talent from the Department of Music with these small chamber performances. Expect a heady mix of classical, choral, contemporary and wind repertoire.

Embark on a musical journey with an acclaimed opera singer and experience the grandeur and nostalgia of Elgar, the pastoral nature and intimacy of Vaughan Williams and the songs of their contemporary; British composer Samuel Coleridge Taylor.
