It has been a busy 12 months for our fantastic Chamber Choir, with a special recital of Faure’s requiem and a Christmas Concert last term. Their ambitious programming continues with this Spring performance, which will include Hubert Parry’s Songs of Farewell.
These 6 motets have been described as ‘some of the most profound acappella literature of the late Romantic era’, they explore loss and a yearning to escape the violence of the First World War. The programme will also include Charles Paterson’s ‘Sweet Day’ and Robert Pearsall’s ‘Sir Patrick Spens’.
The choir is conducted by Joseph Banerjee.
