Award-winning PCK dance to develop a new work for the University’s Third Bite Dance in a four day workshop this Autumn

Sheffield’s Third Bite Dance (the University resident group of older performers) are mostly in our 60s and 70s, with a range of bodies and movement backgrounds, and James Pett and Travis Clausen-Knight – PCK Dance – are intensely trained artists who have performed internationally, from the Bolshoi to Sadlers Wells. So when PCK made us a dance and even shared their stage with us at the Drama Studio one wintry weekend last year, it was transforming. PCK’s generosity, setting us a piece full of flow and shifting patterns, and their trust that the piece would work with, not despite, our idiosyncrasies of age and experience, inspired us.

PCK Dance are on tour again and this November, after they have performed their new work, The Panic Room, at the University Drama Studio, James and Travis will be working with TBD for four days, developing a new dance for us to keep. We are looking forward to feeling stretched and empowered again by these two beautiful dance artists.
