Music journalist Molly Tie’s book Rebel Grrrls: The Real Story of Women and Punk is an exhilarating exploration of rebellion and identity. It focuses on the fans who shaped the scene, using music as a tool for belonging.

Covering every era from British punk and American hardcore to riot grrrl, emo, ska, and today’s revival of musical activism, Rebel Grrrls examines punk’s relationship with feminism, how women in the scene have fought to be heard, and celebrates how punk shaped women and women have shaped punk.
